ROLE:  

We are looking for UX research interns to work on some tough UX challenges this summer. Being a music-streaming platform, we are responsible for creating a delightful experience for millions of our users everyday (15 Million to be precise). We have been constantly evolving to give our users a better experience by focusing on user research.

You’ll be working closely with the product, design and technology teams to inform them with insights from your studies. We will be using qualitative as well as quantitative methods to find insights and solutions. Some of the research methods that we use are ethnographic methods, contextual inquiry, participatory design, diary study, card sorting and usability evaluation and inspection. We will target publishing paper in a peer-reviewed conference.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and conduct user research studies to evaluate new and current products
  • Conduct literature review to find related studies and the best methods and practices
  • Plan fieldwork and conduct qualitative research, including field observation, interviews and usability studies
  • Collect and record data in a systematic way.
  • Analyze the data to compile the findings. Create report and present insights to various teams

Deliverables:

  • A project report in the form of a short or full paper
  • A presentation of the whole process and findings at the end of the internship

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pursuing Masters in HCI, Interaction design, Cognitive Psychology, Social Science or related discipline, or a Master's degree in these areas with prior related UX research experience
  • Familiarity with user research or qualitative research methods and human-centered design principles
  • Have inclination towards user research and possess critical thinking abilities
  • Detail-oriented and clear visual and verbal communicator
  • Able to Prioritize the research problems and self-motivated to lead a research project

  • Published research papers in past.
  • Previous working experience with research studies. It could be a course or a workshop that you attended in your institute.
